July 31st, 2008 · No Comments

by Vin DiCarlo

Young men are taught that their urges is crude and silly, and that it is just a favor that women ALLOWS them to mate with them.

There’s a syndrome that I call a “doofus dad” syndromeThere’s another societal factor going on, . In almost every TV commercial and sitcom, the “dad” or “boyfriend” or “husband” is a dopey, incompetent goof, and the mom/daughter/girlfriend/wife has to use her superior intelligence to fix the situation.

This will bring to the idea that the time of the women is more valuable than men because of the perception that women are “better.”

Praying with Clasped Hands

July 31st, 2008 · No Comments

by Babes Tan-Magkalas

Praying with clasped or folded hands is quite common among Christians. Is there a meaning to this prayer gesture? Yes there is. Apparently, such a prayer posture is a symbol of obedience, sincerity, submission and repentance. Some raise their folded hands when they make a plea to God to answer their prayers.

This gesture, however, is not only common to Christians but to Jews as well. In the book entitled “Book of Jewish Knowledge” by Nathan Ausubel, he said: “It has also been commonly assumed that folding the hands in prayer is exclusively a Christian custom. This is not the historical fact at all. As early as the post-Exilic period, when Jews prayed, they folded their hands, and they observed this custom for several centuries even after it had been adopted by Christians.”

Why Is the Confederate Flag So Popular?

July 31st, 2008 · No Comments

by Robert Cooksey

The Confederate battle flag is the flag we’re most likely to recognize. It’s also called the Southern Cross by some, and carries strong associations - both positive and negative. For some, it’s an emblem of southern heritage and a source of a lot of pride. For others, it’s a reminder of segregation, slavery, blue laws, and a symbol of institutionalized racism. Adding fuel to the fire is the fact that many hate groups use the Confederate battle flag as a symbol - more than five hundred extremist groups do so, according to one source.

The Chaos of Life And Hair Loss Connection

July 30th, 2008 · No Comments

by Elaine Petin

Is there a kinship between stress and hair loss? The effects of tension on the human body are severe, and the relationship between tension and hair loss is something that bears additional inquiry.

Experts agree that some tension in our lifetime is significant. Without tension, no one would get out of bed, no one would go to work and no one would execute familial and social responsibilities. Unfortunately, too little tension is a problem that few people have. Most people have more than enough stress in their lives, and they want to reduce the peril of enduring health problems because of the tension in their casual lives. Problems like obesity and hair loss happen when stress gets out of control.

Chuck Swindoll: Rewriting the Reformation

July 30th, 2008 · No Comments

by Daniel LaLond Jr.

In his magnum opus, The Grace Awakening, Charles R. (Chuck) Swindoll presents himself as taking up “the torch of freedom” as brandished by protestant Reformers such as Martin Luther. In this he leads his readers to believe that by following him and his teaching in The Grace Awakening that they are being true to historical Reformation teaching on the doctrines of grace and faith alone. Consider:

Achievement must accompany sincere faith … We continue to hear that “different gospel” and it is a lie. It is heresy. It is antithetical to the true message that lit the spark to the Reformation: Sola Fide - faith alone (The Grace Awakening, p.86).

Dating Tips for Men: Time Management - Part 1

Dating can be your best friend.

…OR your big enemy.

A lot of time, a man can feel like a slave to his natural need to procreate.

Then there goes a common quote, “He thinks with his… You know.”

Well it is hard NOT think that way if you are physically unsatisfied.

But men are also goal oriented.

We need to achieve things and influence the world in a good way. And we are doers of it.

Balancing the two - my urges and achieving my goals is one of the biggest challenges I’ve personally faced.

People are generally resigned to having their vital information officially recorded by the government. A great deal of resources is channeled into gathering and managing these records. In the Information Age, it is seen as a required mark of sound democratic governance. This information resource is also not solely reserved for government use only. The public has the right of access to many of the government records too. One example is Public Marriage Records.
