One of the things I have always loved about my children is how creative they are. I don’t want to brag, but they are some of the most resourceful kids I have ever met. No matter where they are, they always find something interesting to do. Last weekend was a great example. We had a wind storm, and it caused a power outage. It couldn’t have come at a worse time. You see, we were having family movie night that evening. When the power went out, it completely ruined our activities for the night. We couldn’t watch movies, make popcorn, or do anything else. We couldn’t even heat up food because we had an electric oven!

Play Tents

When I was a little kid, I always loved making forts. I suppose it is a pretty central occupation among the young. In my case, it was more of an obsession. I would go about making play tents with my sister. We would take all the pillows off the couch, mattresses off of any bed we could get to, and sheets out of the linen closet. Sometimes, we wouldn’t go that far, but when we could get away with it, we definitely would. Making a good play tent was the most important thing, after all. We would worry about the consequences later. The first thing was to make the fort.

Ball Pit
December 18th, 2007 · No Comments
There is just something about a ball pit that will bring a child running. Perhaps it is the variety of great colors in the pit, but they love them all the same. Most children love balls, so I guess it was a match made in heaven. There have been stories about weird things found in these pits, but they have been proven to be untrue. However, that does not mean you shouldn’t use some caution when you are thinking about allowing your child to play in one away from home.
