What is Cushing’s syndrome?
Cushing’s syndrome is an extremely complex hormone condition that involves many areas of the body. Cushing’s syndrome is the result of an excess of a hormone called “cortisol” and it’s effects on the human body. Ironically one of the most common causes of Cushing’s syndrome is the administration of “cortisol-like medications” to patients by doctors for the treatment of various diseases. All the other causes of Cushing’s syndrome are the result of excess production of cortisol by the adrenal glands.
