February 28th, 2008 · No Comments

It has been a struggle for black celebrities to achieve equal status, the exception being Oprah Winfrey. She is often cited in polls as the most powerful and influential show business person and she is the only black billionaire in the world. Off Broadway Shows

February 28th, 2008 · No Comments

There is a cult following of productions of Off Broadway shows. The theaters are usually smaller than Broadway ones and more appropriate for experimental work. Some shows begin life in these theatres and then successfully transfer to Broadway and the mainstream, including Godspell, Little Shop of Horrors and Sunday in the Park with George. Some productions have broken records, such as the musical, The Fantasticks, which is the longest running musical in the world and is currently enjoying a revival at the Duffy Theatre. The New York Times critics have a big influence on whether Off Broadway shows will get a decent run.

Environmental Issues

February 25th, 2008 · No Comments

More and more people are interested in environmental issues these days, and that is due to an increased understanding and publicity of the problems associated with global warming. Though it has always been an issue, it seems that more and more are standing up to take notice these days. Advance Directive Form

February 25th, 2008 · No Comments

There are times when people allow themselves to be intimidated by different systems that they become involved in during their lives. One intimidating system in the health care system and the other is the legal system. The sad thing about this is when people allow their fears get in the way of being served well. So often people feel that doctors and lawyers know everything in their field and they do not make mistakes. This is ridiculous. Cable Internet Service

February 22nd, 2008 · No Comments

I think my husband and I were the last people in our neighborhood to purchase a home computer. We both work on the computer at our jobs, and did not see a great need to have one in our home. However we soon discovered that we were missing out keeping in touch with family members because we did not have e-mail. For a while this was not an issue because we had e-mail at work, but then both of our employers began limiting the number of personal emails that we were allowed to receive. This was because some people were getting emails with attachments that carried viruses. We decided it was time to break down and purchase a home computer.
